The Million Books Challenge
Together with a local author from Rochester, NY, we have begun a national campaign that we hope will raise awareness and provide hope for underprivileged and orphaned children in Kenya, Africa. The challenge is to sell 1,000,000 books, where 25% of the price of each book sold will be donated to Joining Hearts and Hands, Ltd., a Rochester based not-for-profit organization that is building schools and providing scholarships for African children.
The Adventures of Drew and Ellie, a children’s chapter-book series by author Charles Noland, is a trilogy of insightful stories about a boy and his little sister. They teach children important life lessons about cooperation, creativity and caring for each other. They also encourage them to develop their own problem-solving skills as they follow Drew and Ellie on each new adventure. The books are well paced and easy to follow, and are written for children ages 4 through 10.
I hope you will open your heart and participate in this worthwhile event. You can visit our web site at www.themillionbookschallenge.com for more information or to purchase these wonderful books. You will not only be promoting literacy here at home, you will also be providing hope to children in this world that might otherwise get overlooked. Every child deserves the opportunity for an education.
Thank You.
